Love it. Well done. This is a fine and authoritative work which will become known as 'the helmet bible', no doubt.

I have seen proofs of this book and the full colour photos and level of research/detail is fantastic: much of the information and helmets shown I have not seen in over 35 years of studying the subject.

Thoroughly recommended.

I'm with RM tomorrow.....we're selling it together - thank you again.

We'll be in their tent/stall (F27-29?) on the Tuesday at 2.00...just look for the long queue! (in my dreams!)

For those who can't get to the show next week please come to me directly (message or email) or, as we've seen, Roger's selling it too.

I hope you like it.

Got my book today and starting to read it.

Superb quality, very informative and I am still at the introduction.

The photographs of the helmets, all in colour, look superb and I will enjoy a wet Friday reading it.

Thanks for producing it.

regards

Many thanks indeed...I'm sure there'll be errors and corrections ('ever the pessimist) but I really hope it does what it says on the tin .....errrr....cover!

The only thing I noticed so far relates to the NFS numbered Fire Forces on page 57 which seems to stop at 40.

My interest is in local units to me and wondered why numbers 41 (Warrington), 42 - my interest - (Stalybridge) and 43 Kendal were missing.

Still ploughing through it and very impressed.

regards

I have yet to see the great work which I am picking up from Adrian at War & Peace on Tuesday but the attached map may shed some light on the missing Fire Force Areas.

There was some tidying up done after the intial set up and as the map shows there were no Fire Forces with the numbers quoted by 1944 presumably because they had disappeared.
