India Pakistan Cavalry Badge?
Posted in the wrong forum initially, can someone please identify this badge, I’m assuming Bengal or Bombay Lancers, but the G has me stumped! It’s not in Ashok Nath’s ‘Izzat’ and it’s on it’s way from Pakistan, so unsure if it’s a collar dog or cap badge. From the image it doesn’t look like anything is missing from between the top of the laurel wreath, ie star/crescent or Ashoka if it is post ‘47. Thanks for looking, Ben

Hi Ben
Its a collar badge to His Highness the Nawab of Bahawalpur's own Body Guard Lancers worn 1927 onwards - I don't think they were ever more than 70 strong and in the 1930's it was reduced to less than a squadron of 37 men. Cheers Tim |

Wonderful! Tim, thanks very much for your swift reply, such an obscure troop, I doubt I would ever have found it, more research to do.... so can’t wait till it arrives, kind regards, Ben.
