Parachute Regiment is this a sweetheart brooch?
Hi, not quite sure on this. Has the look of a sweetheart brooch but lion seems to be facing the wrong way. It's 4cm long. Any ideas?

That would make sense, would this be WW2 era?

Most likely to be post war as collar badges were not in general use during the war.

It is simply a rankers white metal collar badge, it would have originally had two copper lugs.

No, collar badges were only required to be worn by officers of the regiment actually during the war, on SD, as an economy measure.

I have a Firmin made collar badge with a clasp, this is not converted.

From the photograph, I would have thought that the last letter in the word London appears to have been obscured by the remains of originally applied braze?
It is still a die cast silvered officers collar rather than a die stuck, white metal, other ranks example. |

I saw it as a keyboard transcription error. Also known as a mis-type!

Keyboard errors - that's why my "Promoted from the ranks?" query became "Printed".
I thought "Vomecacrocc" must be an Afrikaans translation of " Come across". |
