This image has the KC lined button from the previous message and a low quality QVC button with a floppy shank and back mark Extra Rich Quality. It is a pre 1891 model. The shank is uniform quality. The QVC button is around 3 grams, the KC button is 2 grams. Both are 19 mm.
I think pre 1890 floppy shank buttons are always 'other ranks' and I think the QVC button is either a fashion item or an export item for a foreign navy (e.g. Greek). Last edited by btns; 26-08-18 at 08:18 PM. |

Thanks btns!
Yours sound exactly the same as mine. The fronts don't look too bad but as soon as you pick them up you realise how light they are. I had wondered if they might just be fashion items - but we all live in hope don't we? I'll just chuck them back in the drawer where they live with the other 'rubbish' buttons. Many thanks Pete |

Would it be possible please to see scans (front and back) of the Stokes-made chrome button? Never seen it before. Thanks
