Rob Truscott, just joined
Hi Everyone.
I am really pleased to be on this Forum. Thanks for the add. I collect mainly WW1 uniforms and kit, but have always found it hard to resist British Army badges. Im trying to specialise in WW1 cavalry cap badges at present, though im working on a decent spread of Infantry examples. Early days and ive come unstuck a few times ! My full time work is as a figure sculptor. www.robtruscott.co.uk |

Hi Rob,
A heartfelt 'welcome' old chap. I must confess to the odd indulgence of WWI kit myself from time to time. All the best, Roy.

Good day Rob,
Welcome to the Forum. I checked out your web site and I must say...WOW! Outstanding work. I take it that your interest in uniforms springs from acquiring the actual items to help you with your sculpting? I don't collect uniforms/web gear any more so I probably wouldn't have anything to say about things you might show here. However, I look forward to seeing you around on the Forum in the future. Stay safe and have fun! Ian B

Thanks for kind words
Cheers - Roy, Ian, Andy and Malcolm ,
Yes Roy. Only the problem with space limits my kit indulgences. so badges come as a relief. Also easier to lug about !! Ian - One excuse I used with my mum and now landlady is that I need the uniform and kit to help with sculpting from models. its true that I do draw authentic kit when I can- photos help but aren't enough. To see in the round is what I need. Andy- every so often I buy a dud , sometimes its just an impulse that you know soon afterwards but knowledge learned makes these launderings fewer and far between hopefully ! Malcom - Look forward to showing my modest beginning Cavalry badges and learning more . I Love Cavalry stuff in general ill be sculpting a 9th Lancer and Irish Dragoon Guard for next year hopefully. Best wishes Rob Last edited by Rob Truscott; 06-11-15 at 02:57 AM. |
