Default Eagle Squadron patch

I picked up this Eagle Squadron patch today, it is glued to the card and may take some time and trouble to remove.

My question, is it a real one or a copy, if a copy I will leave it in situ.

Thanks for looking

Rob

If you can tell what type of glue was used, and if it's a water based glue you can soak it off in a bowl of water without hurting the patch.

Sorry, can't say if it's good or not, but it sure looks nice.

Default Eagle Squadron patch

Thanks Terry, I once many years ago had the honour of being allowed to handle an original that a friend of mine was using to make a programme for CBS about RAF Debden where the Eagle Squadron flew from.

This was back in the 1970's and not having the use of a camera I can only try and remember what it looked like. I may try and remove it from the board it's fixed on later.

Default Eagle Sqn patch

Hi,

Unfortunately I think this is a well known repro. Attached are images of the three I have.

The middle one is genuine as far as I am aware and the other two copies.

I am open to hearing otherwise.

Default Eagle Squadron patch

Many thanks for your reply, I did wonder as to whether this was a copy due to the fact it came with a vast number of other items in a job lot.

It has been a long time since my friend showed me the original patch and time does dim memories.

Quite why the repro badges differ greatly from an original is beyond my thinking, not even in the same county as far as I am concerned.

Default RAF EAGLE SQUADRON ARM BADGE

Due to the many issues surrounding the numerous examples of the above mentioned badge appearing on the internet, does any member have a genuine picture of the RAF sealed pattern?
