14TH SERVICE BATTALION THE ROYAL IRISH
Hi all, I would like if anyone would take a shot in giving me their opinion on this one. I picked it up the other day, in a hope of replacing one that was at that time lost in the mail to me. You guessed it, when I got home the same day; 10 weeks after purchase their it was on my desk. So I have what I hope if this one turns out to be OK, two.....
Any comments would be welcome. cheers Simon. |

As there doesn't seem to be a consensus on it's validity, I'll assume for now I can sell it on as the 14th.
Cheers all |

The base width of the crown is more narrow on the good ones if that makes any sense. Regards, Paul.

IT ARRIVED TODAY
Hi Paul, it arrived today and I am puzzled. It is the one I posted at the beginning of the thread, but when measured it's exactly the same, well to my eyes.
The one on the right is my original period one. The measurement at the narrowest point on the crown is 12mm. I want to ask everyone if they see what I see, and I did nab another...... Thanks for any comments. Regards Simon. |

This is one I picked up about month ago from a UVF collector in Belfast. He has the same pattern in brass and WM with both slider and loops. This one belonged to a elderly man who had recently died. I couldn't attach the picture last night as I've only learned how to do it. Alan
