Default Great great grandfathers military badge

Hi
My great great Grandfather saw service in the first world War with the British air Corp ( LATER RAF). I have a picture of his insignia but can not find info on it.
I would be grateful for any help. received_2710295469035180.jpg

That is the badge of the 15th Kings Hussars, a British Cavalry Regiment.

If you google it it will tell you lots about the Regiment.

Many men transferred from other regiments into the Royal Flying Corps - skilled men were needed. Officer aircrew could be regimental aircrew- attached to the RFC from parent regiment. They could fully transfer later if they wanted to and the RFC still wanted them, if they were worth keeping-I expect those not good enough were soon returned to unit. Regards, Paul.
Interesting site- http://www.airhistory.org.uk/rfc/people_index.html
