Lt.Col.(Retd)Gordon Gray AKA 1st Tankie
Hello
I've just received the sad news that Gordon passed away this morning after a sudden illness. He was a lovely chap, an absolute gentleman, and I feel sure he will be missed by those who knew him. May he rest in peace. Rob

That is indeed very sad news Gordon was instrumental in me getting some Liverpool Scottish material for my collection and he and his wife made me most welcome at their house when I went to see it.

So sad to hear this news, I always enjoyed meeting Gordon, great to talk to and he had a cheeky sense of humour too which quite often gave me a giggle Another good one gone, hope he's having a beer with Dave up there somewhere,
RIP Gordon, glad we met, Wilf |

I only met Gordon once and found him to be a real gentleman. I was mildly amused when referring to myself and Phil he stated that it was good to see some young blood in the hobby.
Please pass my condolences to his family. Andy |

Thank you for letting us all know Rob,
This is again a truly sad time and I would like to pass on my condolences to his family and friends. I was introduced to Gordon by Jerry (Eng 9266) at Farnham militaria fair & then again at the MHS shows and on a few occasions at other fairs. He was a very nice, approachable gentleman who would have a chat with everyone. It was a pleasure to have known him and I know he will be sadly missed by us all on this forum and in the wider militaria collecting community. RIP Gordon Ken (The Fatboy) |
