Default Royal Scots Dragoon Guards

Hi Guys,

I picked up this Royal Scots Dragoon Guards badge set a while ago.

Just wondering if anyone happens to know what that flaming grenade badge is?

I assume being on the same display its related to the RSDG?

I believe it is a bandsman badge. That is the only description that Bloomer gives, no dates.

Expect to get half that if you sold it at auction is a good rule of thumb.

Default RADG Grenade

22.04.70. At the 198th Meeting of the Army Dress Committee it was decided to approve Dress & Embellishments for RSDG.

These included an additional cap badge for soldiers of the band, to be provided under regimental arrangement and at regimental expense- a brass grenade above the regimental cap badge on the forage cap.

Hope this helps,

Stephen.

Good Mick, I mentioned as it wasn't shown with the other items. To be honest, not my favourite shoulder title much prefer the old one.

I have a few other nice RSDG items not shown in this pic such as a Piper's plaid brooch. Now that is a beautiful badge!
