Default The 11th Hussars (Prince Albert's Own) Coloured Field Service Cap.

As far as I can work out from "the books" this cap is that of The 11th Hussars (Prince Albert's Own).
The buttons are of gold anodised aluminium and are plain with no design.
No badge has been fitted.
Although The 11th Hussars wore no badge on their beret it appears from illustrations that they did wear one on the CFSC. It appears that some of not all officer's ones lacked the piping of the Other Ranks caps.
On 25/10/69 the regiment amalgamated with The 10th Royal Hussars (Prince of Wales's Own) to form The Royal Hussars, I don't know if this pattern of cap continued in wear as that of the new regiment and if so whether it bore regimental buttons or cap or collar badge.

The caps of The 11th Hussars, The Lancashire Fusiliers and The Royal Army Medical Corps. The shades of these caps along with others such as that of The Essex Regiment seem to be confused in some of the publications, being lost in the colour printing.
It can be difficult trying to work out if an image is showing cherry, rose, crimson, scarlet etc.
The most common misidentification seems to be the cap of The RAMC being badged up as that of The Essex Regiment.
