Default LRDG UNKNOWN VARIANT BADGE

Can anyone comment on this LRDG badge which appears to be sand cast, with lugs, North- South rather then east- west and appears slightly smaller then most.It was glued on a board and had the lugs cut off.
Thanks in advance

Previously ‘unknown variants’ often get me worried when it comes to +70 year old militaria, especially with SF items.

I noticed that you lugs had been attached top to bottom instead of side ways.

Cool Sandcast LRDG

Badges that are "sandcast" are slightly smaller than the original badge due to the process involved. I generally keep sandcast badges as a variant but never pay much for them as unless you have provenance from the person who wore the badge they could have been made five years ago or last month.
