Black Watch Officer's Collar Badges 1902-1936
Hi,
I have the attached badges, which on first appearance appear to be Officers Silver & Gilt collar badges for the Black Watch, 1902 - 1936 period. However, they do not feature in Colin Churchill's "Infantry Collar badges". There are similar badges described as Cyclist badges but these appear to be smaller than those referred to and are an "Officer" quality. Looking at some of the superb threads by R. Marsden they could possibly fall in to the category of the smaller 1/2 size to 1/3 size "Smaller" Glengarry or TOS badges. But these examples were definitely made as a pair. Are they privately commissioned Collar badges? Can anyone positively identify them please. They will be for sale. Many thanks, Andy |

I have never seen anything like these before. They may not have been intended as a pair per se, but I would surmise for some civilian use such as sweethearts or whatever.
The quality is somewhat crude, certainly not for military use, but rather nice nonetheless. CB
