Ain't That a Shame.
Among this morning's finds was this Grenadier Guards Sergeant's cap badge, original fixings removed and looks like its been nailed to a board at some point, thought I would share.

It still has that 'Je ne said quoi' in spite of all that has been doneto it. Still a lovely badge.

I have a little frame of my great grandfather's badges and medals. It was very crowded so (about 40 years ago) I removed the badges and placed the medals on a new background.
I now greatly regret doing that - they should have been together as he meant them to be ! I might try to reinstate the badges but can't remember exactly how they were disposed. However, I still have the badges - most with loops etc sawn off and little holes with nails in them !!! Last edited by KLR; 29-10-17 at 06:23 PM.

I like finding badges like this, this kind of damage is a good sign they are genuine, they are cheap, and they have an extra bit of history. Rob
