KRR anodised badge
I recently posted an album of my small collection of KRRC and connected regiments. Two members have already assisted with info on dates and other corrections and I say thank you to them.
One of these badges is a KC KRRC badge and it remains a mystery piece. I assume it was worn during the 1950s. Has anybody got any info on it at all? Any info / comments would be much appreciated. Dudley |

Hello Dudley,
Good to see your KRRC Album and happy if I've been able to help a little so far. This anodised badge is a new one on me and it has me intrigued. I dare say that there may be an answer to this in Chris Marsh's new book, it would be good to have a confirmation as opposed to it being written off as a fantasy. After WW2 it was decided that there was a requirement for another Rifle Motor Battalion and it transpired that the 2nd Bn KRRC was reformed. This Bn was made up of both KRR and RB personel taken from the existing Bns and I have often wondered how they got around the obvious question of insignia with a mind to keeping all happy. I can't state with any authority if this badge was the answer but it would be nice to think that it was the case and it remains a possibility, even if it got no further than the trial / approval stage. Good to see it and I hope the answer can be found eventually. Kind regards Ry |

Dudley,
your badge looks like a cast reproduction, made from an original donor as you can see the slider mark! Andy |

Possibly a theatre made badge then or failing that a fake! Dudley, can you confirm that it is definitely an Anodised badge please? If it isn't it seems we have the answer. As to my wishful thinking with regard to 2nd Bn KRRC "I'll get me coat" Regards to all. Ry Last edited by Charlie585; 23-01-13 at 08:54 PM. Reason: Typo |

Ry,
if it is a fake it is not a common one! By the fittings it looks as though it could be for a pouch or belt fitting? Andy |

Looks like a product of the Azam company. See this post The company used these flat and drilled fittings on some of their anodised and metal badges.

I did see that thread but never made the connection. I had an example of the D&Ds badge shown in the thread a while back but moved it on as an unknown. Regards Ry |

Hi Guys,
Probably by M. Azam & Sons of Pakistan. I was never able to make a 100% connection but all points to them. The lugs are the give away here and there are many examples of these badges about. The company is covered in the book in the Fakes and Reproductions chapter with examples. Regards Chris |

Many thanks for the most useful info. I am not an expert on British cap badges and this has been a great help. It is definately an anodised badge. Kind regards Dudley |
