Default Australian fake?

Hi,

I have the following badge in a collection I bought recently. It feels quite light in comparison with others I have, but could it simply be an anodised original?

Well many Australian cap badges are indeed anodised aluminium (which it looks) and generally have the 'pin and clasp' fitting that your badge has - so I would say its fine. Generally seen with a makers mark 'Stokes' on the rear.

Australian army - 1st Commando Regt.

Regards all

Bess
