WW2 Badge re-unite
Hi all
I know this might not excite too many, but I thought that the chances of this type of a re-unite must be pretty rare! A member of the BBF brought a number of badges back from the Eastern Cape earlier this week and whilst brousing through them, I saw this 2nd SA Div patch and interestingly it had the chaps name on it. I realised that I was possibly holding a Div patch worn by a chap whose medals I have in my collection! I later confirmed this when I got home and have now acquired the patch. Hopefully they never get separated again! Regards Brian |

How great is that!
I have family medals where one is missing. Is there anywhere that we list the names on the medals we have in case family members are searching for missing medals? Regards Irv |

Re-united . . !
One Saturday afternoon I was looking through an antique shop in Cambridge and found a shooting medal to a Major Crowe of the Cambs & Dist. H.G. R.&P.C. for 1951, I bought it as I thought it was a fairly unique item as it was 2nd phase Home Guard.
The next day was Bedford arms fair and I went along and was amazed by a find a friend of mine pointed out to me of a copper ashtray which was awarded to to a Major Crowe of the Cambs & Dist. H.G. R.&P.C. for 1951. I asked the dealer who was from Wales where he had obtained it, he said he was not sure, but he had not got it from Cambridge. I naturally had to have it . . ! Rob |

Don't give up looking everywhere for lost medals. I was fortunate enough to find my great grandfathers Cape General service medal, His Queens SA with bars Def of Kimberly and Paardeberg with a collector from who I purchased them. I searched many years for them. If thats not enough I found my granfathers missing 1st WW Victory medal and His brothers who was KIA on the Somme at an auction house in Johannesburg. So miracles do happen!
Keep looking Bill |
