Default 17/21, East Yorkshire, Hampshire any good?

I've grown to be skeptical! I am batting somewhere between 0 and 25%.

They look ok to me. There should be a vent hole behind the rose on the EY badge, which is hidden by the slider in the photo.
Cheers,
Alex

G'day

The 17th/21st Lancers Arm Motto which is known as a Chadd looks to be alright to me from what I can see.

Regards Phil.

Default 17th/21st

The Arm motto Chadd is a complete fake.
It stems from the 1970 were someone made them. There is a rumour that 17th/21st band were going to use them but were forbidden. The Regiment received some samples from various souses from time to time but never wore it.

The Hants and E. Yorks are fine. In fact I’d go as far as saying the E.Yorks is a lovely example looking at the reverse of the scroll and tone/finish of the metal.

I'm sorry about my 17/21st badge. Would have been bought around 1980. May even have been the first badge I ever bought (at least in the first three).

Glad to hear about the other two. They have a place in my future display of XXX Corps in February/March 1945.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. They are still sold by traders today as real I had one when I first started collecting and was soon put right.
People who served in the Regiment have brought them even silver ones and have been less then impressed to be sold a dud. Normally wives trying to do the good thing getting something nice for Hubby.

Hi Mac

Sorry for the wrong assessment, should have known better.

I have one in brass, another in white metal, another silver plated with a back plate and yet another in hall marked silver, that is that it has 2 sets of hall marks, and one is Scottish and they have different year letters !

Cant help bad luck !! What you do when you are not properly educated and some I have had from the 70's.

Regards

Phil.

I think, from the photographs, that the 17th/21st sleeve badge just looks brand new, I would seek a refund if I were you.

Note that the Hants badge ( a good one ) has a solder repaired slider.
