Either way you are not doing your customers a favour and are probably driving potential buyers away. I never buy from anyone using that system.

Dave.
Although i agree completely about the rip off and it is a massive rip off by ebay because they even use the sellers packing which isn't on the whole even suitable for international postage. The reason i use it is just to give international customers the chance to buy from me. Obviously if its a cheap item anyway its not worth it but if the value of the object and rarity is high it might still be. the other alternative is they dont get the opportunity to buy as i personally dont want to get into dealing with the postage and dealing with problems internationally.

After a three month hiatus, I finally made an order from Geoff and it took only two and half weeks to arrive here in California, to which I was pleasantly surprised.
All dealers in UK charge for international signed for, which varies from 8.50 to 10.50 GBP. Most ebay sellers do as well.

The lowest price for a large letter, tracked and signed from UK to US is £9.17 excluding packing costs. So I would charge £12 to cover packing and any excess weight.

Bubble wrap is not cheap.

I don't think any of my customers are dim, as alot frequent this forum.

I am making a genuine enquiry, as my customers are actually very important to me and if the programme is a rip off, i will happily not use it.
Just looked at some listings right now. UK to Singapore

A Royal Munster Fusiliers Cap Badge current price 25 GBP - Shipping cost Royal Mail International Tracked 9 GBP

A Royal Munster Fusiliers shoulder title current price 4.99 GBP - shipping cost Global Shipping Programme 29.05 GBP

I had a situation where a package from me in the US to a fellow collector in Canada took 3.5 months. I stayed in contact with both the US and the Canadian postal services. Finally found out that they had 70 trailers full of un-worked mail due to the virus. I am having similar problems with mail to and from Australia.

Nothing for it, but to wait, and I agree, things will eventually turn up.

That is just crazy, isn't it.

I have actually opted out of it now, about an hour ago after googling the cost. I didn't even think about checking what the cost was to the buyer, I thought they were paying a competitive price.

Happy I was of help Khyber! Of course I am looking for so many bits to arrive and hate it when I come back from the mail box empty handed....but as they say - Patience is a virtue, so guess all one can do is be virtuous!!!

Hi everybody
I have a package coming from the US ATM posted 25 June and another posted 26 June . The 26 June showed up after 2 weeks the other still waiting , but the frustrating thing is not the wait but on the USPS site it is supposed to be in Sydney as of 12 July yet the Aust Post tracking say's its still in Miami waiting to be sent O/S ......... found out that the USPS is a system generated entry not actual where as Aust Post is real time !! AHHHH

Now that felt better

I'm waiting for a badge that was posted from Chicago in early April. As of 2 weeks ago it was still sitting there. I suspect US Mail has massive mail backlogs due to Covid and a lack of flights. Super frustrating but nothing you can do except be patient.
