Dean,
Thanks for comments and your generous gift of the Edinburgh City VA busby badge, it has a most appreciative home . All 4 Durham VA corps wore specific numbered titles though I have yet to find an example for the 2nd or 3rd to date. Many thanks for comments left and messages received. To reply to one request, please see attached photo of the pouch badge. Dimensions: 38 height by 90mm length. It is hallmarked silver. Maker stamped W J & Co. Birmingham (anchor) dated 1860 (Monarch / Sovereign head mark and capital letter L). Pat Last edited by Longdog; 16-08-20 at 02:13 PM. Reason: Additional comment related to date. |

Update:
When I posted this yesterday I clean forgot to add the following to the boards beforehand so better later than never....🙄 Volunteer Artillery: Another Lancashire example, this one to the 1st Corps. More recent addition to the collection that hasn’t yet been added to the display. Militia Artillery: Couple more Scottish examples that are on a card in my bag for when I eventually can get to a fair and hopefully find the RGA pattern title examples that were worn above the Corps title by rooting through odds ‘n sods boxes. The C & DM (Cornwall and Devon Miners is also lacking at present). Thanks again to Norfolk Regt Man for posting photos of the titles, if anyone has others not shown here it would be greatly appreciated to see any examples. Thanks Pat |

Colin,
Thanks for comments and pleased you approve of where that superb pouch badge now resides. It did indeed make my day to get that badge at Chatham last year, despite having to put up with awful jokes and non stop abuse, sorry, banter, from both yourself and Mr T...😂. All the best mate. Dave, Thanks for posting your Monmouthshire VA collection, great to see. The multi piece title is the only example I’ve seen to date, scarce item indeed 😁. Cheers also for the information emailed yesterday mate, much appreciated. Pat |
