Default Maroon and cream patch for I’d please

Good evening, please see the attached photo of a maroon and cream patch, 1.5inches tall. Can anyone tell me what it is and the era it dates from?

Many thanks, that might be it as in amongst other badges was a staybright Cheshire Regt badge.

I can confirm it is indeed for the Cheshire Regt.

PS, the "cream" is actually termed Buff. This was the Cheshire facing color.
