Default Royal Flying Corps Group Photograph

Hi Gents,

I'm sure there isn't anything here you have not seen before but never the less I thought I would share this splendid photograph.

Cheers,

Roy

A great photo, it's always so disappointing that the norm is for photos from this (and other) era not to have details of units and individuals portrayed noted.

Hi Leigh,

I agree, very sad indeed that such history should be lost. Even if it said "Bob second from left" at least we could put a name to a face.

Sadly nothing on the back of this lovely image.

All I can add is that the motorcycle is a Phelon & Moore who had the sole contract for suppling the RFC.

Cheers,

Roy

I thought the m/cycle may be of interest to you, having read your recent posts on such beasts.
I know my father rode one in Cyprus during the late 1940's, presumably for part of the tour his battalion spent in Palestine, although I never enquired further and I have no reason to think he was a "despatch rider".
