Painted badges
Hi all
I bought these badges quite a while ago, which some misguided soul had painted with what looks like modeling paint. I assumed I'd be able to remove the paint quite easily but thinners hasn't worked. Any suggestiong? Thanks, cheers, Alex |

I bought some badge last year that were painted. I used paint striper. Left it on for 30 minutes, these used a stiff brush and soapy water. Try a small section first, I was worried about the paint striper staining the metal. But worked out OK.

I've had some success with an ultrasonic cleaner. It breaks the mechanical bond.

Acetone might work, and the cheapest source is fingernail polish removal, But I too would suggest trying a small area on the back first. Also, there are different versions of finger nail polish remover, so check the ingredients.
