D Day badge RDG
Good afternoon,
I have two different patterns of D Day badge of the Royal Dragoon Guards. The right one seems to be the usual one. Would you know the left one ? Laurent |

Laurent,
The left hand one with merrowed (over-stitched) edges is more recent manufacture and likely to be for the Royal Dragoon Guards. The right hand one is embroidered on felt and older and probably 4th/7th Dragoon Guards. The flash was worn in France in 1940 before Dunkirk and is erroneously called a “D Day’ flash although it was also worn in NW Europe from D Day onwards. Tim
