Default Four badges, different variations.

I found this badges in a mixed lot of things from Jerusalem. It is quite possibly that they were produced by S. Kretschmer in Jerusalem as many other badges from that lot.

G'day Hordeum

Thanks for posting these photos. Ive never heard of the AIF having badges made in Jerusalem but that's not to say that the did or did not.

The first large sized Rising Sun is a slouch hat badge and they have a void at each end of the 3 scrolls with the name on them These voids change in shape from maker to maker and whilst most of the Rising Suns don't have a makers name on them, the shape of the void acts as a "Signature".

The 3 smaller Rising Suns are collar badges and they don't have the voids, the collar badge was also worn on the cap and the ladies Slouch Hat, this is of a different shape to the mens and does not have a turn up on the left.

I hope that this helps.

Regards Phil.

Hi Phil. Thank you for your explanation. I only suggested that maker as this badges were found together with many other products made by this maker. Kretschmer’s sample board was found in his archives and contain one of RS badge. What size, fastening etc it’s got I have no idea as the picture of the board is not very clear. Find below the link to other forum when his polish products are discussed and where you can find his sample board.
The badges goes on eBay this evening as nobody was interested for exchange.
