Field Service caps of the Kings Liverpool Regiments

These first two caps belonged to Sergeant Dennis Brown of the 13th Battalion who was a Chindit. Both caps may well have been made abroad and both have small general service buttons on the front.

The coloured F.D. cap has a cap badge made by Chatur Bihari and Bros, Aligarh U.P.

The khaki F.S. cap is what I can only describe as officer quality and has what appears to be a British made other ranks cap badge. This cap has Dennis Brown`s initials on the inside.

In the second picture ,the top cap is an officers example with silver and gilt cap badge with brass ( probably originally gilt ) regimental buttons, this example was made by Watson Prickard of North John Street , Liverpool and although I have no evidence to support it, I think this hat may have been made for an officer of the 5th Battalion as Watson Prickard were not a Tailor approved by the Regular battalion.

The bottom cap in the second picture has medium size, rather than small size brass regimental buttons which look rather strange and a bi metal other ranks cap badge.
