Default Silver Topped Officers Canes

Thought it nice to share these super canes/Parade batons with the forum. Both Royal Irish Fusiliers. The big Baton marked FN full hallmarks for Birmingham 1933.The other smaller officers cane FN full hallmarks Birmingham 1963.The condition is as good as I`ve seen.I`m very lucky to have these two although I had ago at selling the big one I`m pleased that did not happen.

Not necessarily both officers' canes. The walking cane (the larger of the two) may well have been used by a senior nco. Similarly, whilst the swagger stick (not a cane) was probably the property of an officer (being HM silver) the same style would be carried by other ranks and nco's. Regards. David

I agree - the bigger stick is, I suggest, a warrant officer's stick, and the smaller one looks more like an OR's "walking out" stick than an officer's swagger stick.

Default Staff of Office

Manythanks for your views on the swagger sticks.I did a search on the topic & one forum member states there is a stick called a Staff of office describing it as much bigger than a normal WO`s stick. The larger one of the two would fit this bill. All the best monty
