Default New website

Greetings chaps,

After many years I finally got around to building my own website. Still lots to do but it's a start, so if anyone would like to check it out please consider this an invitation.

web address: www.wilkinsonfscollection.com

Best wishes, Roy.

Hi Roy,
great website. I have just had a quick look and it looks very interesting, will be have a more in depth look later. Just a quick tip though, if you edit the actual web address by adding www. immediately in front of the wilkinsonfscollection.com it will create a hyperlink that will take you straight to the website if you click it. You can edit your text to update it. Now for some more envious reading!
Cheers Dave, and thanks for letting us know about your website

Seeing your website has made me dig out my "commando knife" I seem to have a "fat grip" version that is stamped on the guard but not to clear to read at this time.
1st line WILLIAM (?)
2nd line ??D?E?? (?)
3rd line SHEFFIELD
4th line ENGLAND
Line 3 is not very clear. Can you guess at the maker?
I have had this knife since early '70's and used to wear it on my webbing when on operations or exercise's but keep it locked up at other times. During 1974 when I was in the OMAN, a SAS officer offered to buy it from me for a large sum of money (it was back then) but I cannot remember how much.
I have allowed the knife to get into a bit of a state but have started to clean it up gently.

Hi Ric,Ted,

Many thanks for all your kind words and support.

As insignia is part of my interest I have/and will include some pieces on the 'Greatest Generation' page under 'General Topics'. However as time allows I may try and dedicate a page specifically to this.

Hi Jerry,

Your knife sounds like a post war Third Pattern made by William Rogers Sheffield England. But if you would like to contact me and send some photo's I would be happy to have a good look for you.

Thanks to all who have encouraged me and offered support. Although the F-S knife is my first passion as some of you know insignia has been an integral part of my collecting too. It's interesting the paths one follows once they get the collecting bug!

Happy collecting and best wishes to all, Roy.

Hi John,

Appreciate you taking the time to look and also you kind thoughts. Although not dedicated to badges, it's nice to have all my fellow insignia collectors appreciate this other topic.

Best wishes, Roy.
