Could a Forum member identify this sword?

Sorry, I can't help.

I did have a closer look at the marking, but it is not really my field.

I will post my enhanced pic as it ought to help others to identify the sword. I trust that you do not mind.

Hi Bill, the sword is a Prussian pattern 1889 Infantry Officers Degen. It is a common pattern although some variations can be quite valuable and collectible. These are now repro'd in China but it's such a common pattern most examples are in the $350-500 range, even for pristine examples.
