Default Edward VIII HMP Principal Officers/ Chief Officers Cap Badge

A 1937 issued and withdrawn Edward VIII HM Prison Srrvice Principal Officers Cap Badge.

This Patten is the guilded type issued to senior ranks of HM Prison Service, not a The plain brass type worn by Officer ranks they turn up but not on a regular basis still quite rare.

These badges were issued for wear on the coronation but then withdrawn once the abdication was announced.

I have never seen one being worn in an image.

Badge acquired from Britons Badges first time I had done buisines with them very helpful and safe delivery https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=br...obile&ie=UTF-8

I would recommend them.

Badge shown on its own and with group for comparison next to officers badge

Both Edward VIII and George VI Principal and Officers cap.

Last image is Chief officer circa 1940 I am looking to add one of these to my collection if any one can help.

Regards to all

Stephen

When are HMP Service going to stop placing items of insignia (at the shoulder) above the Queen's Crown? The Crown, if featured at all, should appear above all other items. In the case of the tunic pictured, the Crowned HMP title should be above not below the chrome bar. HMP continually flout convention in this respect.

Dave.

Please send email address and I can send images of the New designe epaulets have this sorted and the drop down patches. Re the tunic however it was introduced 1988 and was adapted in service without taking this in to account.
