Default GSB on Wolseley Pattern Foreign Service Helmet

Hi Guys,
Does anybody know if the GSB was worn on the Wolseley Pattern Foreign Service Helmet in 1915 in Egypt or Galipolli? have found this photo from the AIF 14th Battalion in Egypt and it looks like the GSB is above the puggaree.
Does any one know whether this was standard practice or did i go on the left hand side or did it not go at all?

Pretty tough to find anything on this one. Do you think it may have been personal choice? Although, I find it difficult to understand that the powers that be would have allowed that.
