Default Fincastle's Horse

See Bosley's current auction has fall into the misconception that Fincastle's Horse was an Irish unit (lot 341). A common mistake, but definitely born and raised in Scotland. Thought an auction house of this calibre would know this.

The special service IY recruited across the realm, notwithstanding, the majority of 139th to 142nd and the 177th Companies of the 31st IY were Scottish, Viscount Fincastle himself, Alex Murray was interestingly born in England.

Not sure who there badge expert is but the all brass 1916 R Warcs badge is questionable and the Shaftsbury OTC badge is not an OTC as the school had a cadet corps and not an OTC. Lots of other questionable descriptions. Clealry no one there had read my amateur jottings on the School OTCs......
