Default RM Side cap, need opinions

Hi Guy's,

Need your opinions on this side cap I received this morning. It is made of a dark blue linen with white pipping. It has a RM badges on with General service buttons to the front. No markings that I can find.

Cheers
Irv

To me, that looks like someone has just made it. IMHO.

Thanks Andy,
I wanted to get some opinions before I put my thoughts down. But I have a number of red flags.

Shows RM side cap as dark blue with red piping - see bottom of page.

Thanks Guy's.
I am in total agreement with you. After closer examination I also believe this is a made up side cap that someone has sexed up with a RM cap badge which I also believe to be a restrike after comparing it to known originals.
I have sent an email to the seller to arrange a return in line with their T&C Guarantee.

Regards
Irv

I'm not saying it's Royal Marines as I don't collect to them, but construction wise the cap looks like a typical genuine private purchase other ranks colourird field service cap. Knocked up by hand somewhere by a one man band taylor and not mass produced.

Just my opinion, i wouldn't believe that would be allowed to be worn. The tailoring/stitching is shocking. The theatre prop is probably right. Sorry.

I have seen similar caps and they were made in POW camps.

I dont think its a fake.
