Default 5th Inniskilling DG rank slides?

All,
Cannot find any reference to these at all. The only thing I am sure of is that they are post ww2 of course.
I am assuming they are for officers, but what period and did they wear cloth or metal rank insignia on them?
Thanks much!

Anybody on these? Could they be some kind of prototype that was never adopted? The colour is Primrose by the way.

Default 5RIDG Rank Slide

I have one with two cloth pips attached. I have seen others, don't think they are particularly rare.

There is s good chance that they are described in THE DRESS DISTINCTIONS OF THE 5TH. ROYAL INNISKILLING DRAGOON GUARDS, the Langridge series. My copy in is storage and I don’t recall any details. Perhaps someone on the forum has a copy they can look up for you.

I too have seen these from time to time
