Default Askar Renjer Malaysia - Malaysian Ranger

Please see the attachment. It is a typical Wing Sun manufacture cap badge. It has a scroll with ASKAR RENJER MALAYSIA. The crown is different from the other Renjer badges I have seen and I suspect it may be the 1st type made with the advent of the Federation of Malaysia. Also all the others I have seen do not have the word ASKAR on them. Can any one please enlighten me on what I have here. I think it is the cap badge that replaced the SARAKWAK RANGERS cap badge, but was later replaced with a new badge that dropped the word ASKAR. I think it may be a rare item.

Thank you for your reply, and I appreciate you taking time out to respond, but the badge is different from the current one in two ways. First it is an all brass Wing Sun type badge for the Federation of Malaysia and secondly it has the word Askar at the beginning of the title. The current badge has Renjer Malaysia as its title without the word Askar.

Hi again,

I’ve just come across this site (link below) which I think is indicating (difficult to tell from the size of the photo) that it was worn 1960’s/70’s.

Regards,

Zob.
