VIII Recce beret
Gentlemen
I would like to share this nice find I made, I didn’t remove the cap badge to examine it because I thought it was good and wanted to leave it in place, I did slightly remove the pin and could see a dark patina on the reverse. Kind regards Chay Last edited by Tweed; 13-06-18 at 12:17 PM. |

Yes its the early prototype with no overlay. When I was at the 8th recce reunion I asked about the badges I had and was told it was the prototype. Cheers Brian

Great photo!
Thanks for posting! Showing the same cap badge, I wonder when the second version was first issued? Kind regards Chay |

Hi Rick!
Thanks it’s originally fitted to a 1945 beret and is the first type of this badge ! Kind regards Chay |
