Default H.Q. Central Mediterranean Force badge

Dear All,

Can anyone tell me if the H.Q. Central Mediterranean Force cloth formation badge actually existed as a worn badge? It is described by Lt-Col Cole in his super book as being "the black torch of freedom with three red flames against a white background the lower portion of which had three thick wavy blue bands to denote the Mediterranean. The design was set in a shield with a black border".

Many thanks,

Ken

As shown in WW2 British Formation Badges by Bruno Boulanger (I haven't got "Badges on Battledress" to hand).
I don't know if this illustration is of an original.......
