Smile ASC variations

I am currently going through my ASC badges and have found the following items, 1916 economy, one with a plain slider, one with FE Woodward and one with loops which do not appear to have feet.

I know that 1916 economy badges should have sliders, so thoughts on this badge please.

Rob

Default ASC 1916

With over 70 views I am surprised nobody has commented on the solid centre badge with the loops, is it a 1916 issue where the manufacturer ran out of sliders?

More likely the manufacturer ran out of sliders in 1970, looks repro to me. Pic is pretty awful, can you post close up front and back please.

You’ve been ‘Marshed’ I’m afraid.

You can see the monogram flaws highlighted on the badge with the fake 15mm Gaunt mark, these are also evident in the Marsh catalogue image. Both flaws are on your badge also.

Sorry I don’t have a more face on picture.

Smile ASC?

Luke, thanks for your information, I think it was part of a collection I bought some years ago, all part of the hazards of buying up collections that started in the 1970's.
I have only got around to digging the badges out and sorting them as they have been in store since I bought them.

Regards Rob
