Default National Defence Clothing and Dress Commitee

Some highlights from the NDCDC, April 2016:

Number of Specialist Skill Badges DHH
DHH had been tasked with mocking up a new policy for the 265 on the wearing of specialty skill badges and commendations on the right band side of the tunic. Current policy allows one specialty skill badge above the name tag and up to three total items, either badges or commendations below the name tag. Recognizing that there is a wide array of sizes and combinations for both items, the proposal accepted by NDCDC was to put a limit as to the size of the area on the tunic where these items can be worn, and to place guidelines on their placement, and members will be free to wear as many items as they can fit in the area specified in accordance with those guidelines.

Product improvement to the Gabardine to a double breasted style with brass buttons and a belt, with a lighter interior lining

Mr. Bryden is working on a Statement of Requirements for a badging project for the Army, developing suitable badges for CADPAT, for Level 2 and Level 3 Formation Patches, Specialty Skill Badges etc. He requested the support of the LI chiefs to push him any requirements for badges that their members in CADP AT may require, which are not necessarily Army centric. New badges for operational dress will be full colour in subdued thread that should fit the needs of all three environments.

Project to develop new DEU for CANSOFCOM so that all previous elemental affiliations will be changed and create unit cohesion. Uniform will be based on the Devil's Brigade uniform (Tan and Brown) and is being developed in conjunction with DSSPM. Pattern will be based on the current Army pattern but with a different colour pant and jacket.

Briefing note was presented on the creation of a new Specialist Skill Badge for qualified Door Gunners. Request was approved, badge creation is to commence through DHH, RCAF and the office of the CHA.
