Default ? Birmingham Volunteers badge

Hi folks

This item turned up while I was detecting

A wooded area near my home in South Wales.

BV under 3 feathers. Nearest I can find is Birmingham

Volunteers but with crown in place of feathers.

Any information would be much appreciated,

Regards

That is a Napoleonic War period Cross Belt Plate of a Local Militia unit beginning with 'B' somewhere near to where it was found (probably).

The Prince of Wales's Feathers certainly support that assumption.

Try googling a list of towns/Villages around that area being with B to see if one crops up.

Could be a very obscure and minor place, certainly not Birmingham.

regards
