Saskatchewan badge
Hi all!
Can anyone identify the purpose of this Saskatchewan badge? It is lugged and all brass. Thanks Barry |

The pin is the coat of arms of the city of Regina.

Thanks
Hi Voltigeur
Any idea what it's use would be? Is it just a souvenir or had it a specific purpose? Barry |

Hi Barry, firts idea that comes to mind is souvenir pin but then you wrote "lugged" did some research and the most likely wearer would be the Saskatchewan Conservation Dept.Honour Guard. ??????

municipal badge, not provincial
JO, an interesting link you provided. However, it states their collar is the provincial coat of arms, which is distinctly diff. from the Regina Municipal Arms. So it is a City of Regina badge of some sort, Police or Fire would be the obvious guesses.
Barry, you could try sending a quick email to the Museum in Regina, they might be able to identify it easily. http://www.royalsaskmuseum.ca/services/contact_us.shtml

Regina Police Services building
I couldn't find a close up photo of a current member in service dress wearing a collar, however, this is hanging on the outside of their building

thanks for info!
Hi Guys
Thanks for all the info on this Regina badge. I got it from an old guy who was selling his military collection in bits and pieces. Saw this badge and thought worth buying for £1 just because it is good quality and unusual. He had items from Canada, South Africa as well as UK. It will be quite old as he has not added to his collection for decades. Barry |
