Default Help with ID - Rearing horse and Crown badge

Can someone help me Identify this? (it was brought to me in the market by an elderly gentleman who said it belonged to his late wife. I deal in coins, so I don't know why he thought I could help, but I offered to try!)
It measures about 17mm at the longest. The reverse is plain brass coloured with a vertical clip-pin. Looks relatively modern to me...

Thanks for the suggestion. I just tried looking at web sites to do with the RVC and see nothing similar - do you have any link?
As for sale - I don't think so. The old gentleman seemed to put great value on it as his late wife's proud possession, but I will check when I see him next week.

Yes - that looks promising. I didn't expect it to be just part of the overall image. Anyone know when and for what reason this might have been produced? Is it just a membership badge for someone who attended the college, or does it have more significance than that?
... just so I can feedback to the gent. He found it wrapped carefully in plastic cotton wool in a special box, so he feels it meant a great deal to his wife.

That is great - thanks! I will relay to the owner.
If he does want to sell, I will let you know.
