Malc,
many thanks, a big thumbs up on the KDG, 7H & 10H.. The 7H is interesting in that it's the first I've seen that does not have a Die Fault above the 1st "E" in Queen's and the 10th is also interesting in that it is single piece construction, as economies should be (not saying 2 piece Cav are not genuine). The other three I feel are "Gap Fillers" but nevertheless thanks for showing them. May I use your images to summarise when the thread is near completion?

Best regards

Andy

Malc, Ref the 6ID - I have a couple that both came from the Walter Lambert collection that don't look much different to yours...
Not sure if I sent pictures of mine to Mike for inclusion in the Cavalry project...

Andy,
Ref the die fault on the 7thH. The 7thH econ one in the Cavalry project came from me, does this also have the die fault you refer to?

David,
just checked it out and it looks like Malc's. That's 2 patterns!

Having second thoughts on Malc's 6th Dgns too, it was the lugs that put me off, but the colour and detail look very good! Need to do some more digging, thanks guys for contributing with an open mind!

Andy

Default 7th Queen's Own Hussars

Hi Andy and all,
Here are my 7th Hussars badges mentioned in Post#30 of this thread. Sliders seem fractionally longer than the ones shown so far.
Cheers, Tinto

Default 3rd Hussars economy

I picked this up the other day. It feels a nice badge, but is it too good to be true?

Andy

Andy,
sorry, I did see your reply on the Cav Econ thread but I've had a rather hectic few days!! Alas I think this badge is not right! Hope you did not pay too much for it?

Luckily it was cheap (£4.99), but I thought I would take a chance....... I will keep it until a good one comes along (if ever)

Cheers, Andy

Andy,

It is quite probable that there was not an economy version of this badge as the bi-metal type did not have any overlaid parts.

Default XXI Lancers?

Hi Andy, and others,
I'd be grateful for your opinion on this badge, I suspect a recent restrike. Was this regiment among the Economy issues of WW1?
Cheers, Tinto

Tinto, a common copy I'm affraid, the crown shape and un-voided cypher let it down! The 21L is one I'm unsure of, I've shown two examples at the start of the thread!

Thanks for showing your badge!

Dear all,

I have so far avoided seriously collecting EI headress badges and after reading this thread, I can see that I should tread carefully if I ever feel inclined to start collecting them in the future.

I can offer only 9L for this thread as a possible good'un as this badge is very like its Bim variant. I have a partially voided 21L that I think is not right (shown for refererence).

21L,
both suspect IMO, the crown ain't right on the 21st depite the voided cypher and the 9th is quite a poor strike, looks rather thin and the slider is modern!

Thanks for sharing!

Hi 21L
Doubtful the 9th is genuine as it was an all white metal badge in the first place, no all white metal badges were made in economy issue,

Malc
