Phil, I don't have the Victorian badge to compare, but here are two Royal Irish Rifles badges to illustrate the difference. The KC (on the right) is domed with a protruding point, whereas at QVC (on the left) flares out at either side.

That's a great sets of collars too, Danny. The production of a brass collar seems to suggest that there may also be a OSD cap badge. Are you aware of the existence of any such badge?
