Koevoet
Hi, I have just put together a display of Koevoet badges etc. for my "Badge Room". I thought that I would share it. Koevoet was police, but worked like a military unit. They had a very high kill rate along the Angola Border. Andrew

Andrew
Just finished reading a book on these chaps....from a military standpoint I do know they operated "close to the borders of fair warfare" if there is such a thing? They were well known to "steal a contact" from under the noses of the military forces, and in fact on a number of occasions there were or very close to blue on blue contacts with them by the army. However that aside, they were very efficent troops and their Kill Rate was amazing. They also got a lot of bad press for how they recovered the bodies of the dead terr's... but we all know the interior of a Casspir in 30 degree plus heat is not the best place to store dead people, sadly never admitted by their detractors....! Not seen many of their badges around but they do make a colourful collection. Well done on acquiring so many. Brian |
