Default White swan

Does anyone recognise this white swan? Is it military? If it is, which unit wore it?

Thank you.

30 Signal Regt's sign is a white swan on a black background. It is taken from the emblem of the Dyers Company, which is one of only two livery companies granted the right by the Crown to keep swans on the Thames.

1951 5 Corps Signal Regiment
1956 90 Signal Regiment (Trials)
1959 30 Signal Regiment (Trials)
1967 30 Signal Regiment

I think the patch was inherited from 90 Signal Regiment. Bit of a mission to check my old archives so hopefully someone else can provide the details.

Yes it is 30 Sigs, they were in Nuneaton in 1998-99 when I served with them.

Attached is a pix of the one I used to own. FYI none were worn by the regiment in 1965 when I was there, but of course BD was no longer worn. The info is from the book cover shown. Mainly Commonwealth Signal Corps and unit histories with quite a few black and white pix of badges and patches.

Thank you for the update. This badge will be offered for sale as it is not within my field of collecting.

Way too big for the 1995> combat uniform badge, possibly a sports kit badge.
