Officers SD collar is probably correct.

Thanks jerry
The size of the badge is 2" high 1 1/2" wide. The same size as my brass slider on. I was under the impression that collar badges were smaller but what do I know hence the post. Paul |

Early versions of officers collar badges were the same size as the cap badge.

Hi Paul
Just to support what has already been said, your badge is a collar badge worn on Officers Service Dress. OSD was introduced in 1902 and the Royal Fusiliers badge you have was introduced c.1904. It was worn until the mid 1950's when it was replaced by a short-lived QC version. OSD cap badges were also bronze (for most regiments) and the cap and collar badges were often the same size, although collar badge size sometimes changed over the years. In most cases with OSD badges, if it has blades on the back it's a cap badge and if it has lugs then it's a collar badge. David |

I am always glad to help when I can, it is only a shame that I do not know as much as many here.
