Mystery badges - help please
This is my first attempt at posting in this forum, so fingers crossed.
In Liverpool's Town Hall there are wall-paintings of many regimental and other badges. Here is one which I cannot identify, but have to say that the artist sometimes used 'licence' in his interpretations. Others will follow for comments if this is successful. I believe it represents the 7th Hussars. The monogram is quite distinctive.

Thanks for that - the monogram is presumably 'QO', but hard to trace quite how!
Daggers. I shall try another from the same source. |

A bit stylised that one. The interwined monogram is similiar to the Grenadier Guards NCOs badge centre pieces. Household Division motto as well.

than the intertwined letters of the 7H. I am not so good on the breakdown of these letters but it does look x2 G's - back to back. |

Daggers,
I think I have mentioned this to you before, I think some of the badges in the Town Hall are based on regiemental crests which were used on stationary etc and not on the badges as worn on uniform. Peter

The first example appears to be an intertwined and reversed L and P or R. Princess Louise perhaps? The last appears to be a simple GR. Kevin |
