Gives a new meaning to the old adage "OVER THE MOON"!

Maybe I'm stating the bleedin' obvious, but doesn't the moon refer to the crescent moon fitting?

This thread isn't going to end well.

Uninformed, perhaps somebody should help rather than mock. Isn't that what this forum was supposed to be about, helping people.

I don't like the way its been on here lately. I think, as soon as I can back up my album images, I'll take a leaf out of a few other's books and go.

Phil
I for one would be disappointed should you decide to ‘up sticks’.
Your posts are always relevant and informative, unfortunately you are sadly correct in your observation that things on here aren’t always as friendly and amicable as they could be.

Message to all (including myself) : lets remember why the forum exists.
Toby

Looks like someone has helped , badge now described as :

"Royal West Kent Military Army Collar Badge Lapel Brooch (Silver Horse)"

I agree people should help , especially on the forum , but sometimes it is just a bit of fun pointing out obvious errors made on the internet (by amateurs and self proclaimed experts).

"this made me smile, will start looking for moon badges"

To me that is harmless banter, nothing offensive in it and why not share something amusing?

Default RWK old comrades

For my two bob's worth I cannot see why this thread was ever started, this forum should be about the passing of relevant information between badge collectors.

The description of the aforementioned item read as follows:-

Royal West Kent Military Lapel Badge. Condition is Used. Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class Large Letter.

Having collected badges for many years I can find nothing wrong with this description, maybe I'm missing something, please could the enlightenend help this old duffer with an answer . . !

Rob

Hi rob, the listing has been changed, from the one I started this post about. This post has gone a bit sour, i for one wish I had never posted it.

I can not believe how the topic of this thread has exploded. The original poster realized some humour in the way an eBay listing was described (something to the effect of "a silver horse & moon pin). Of course, the "moon" is the crescent shaped button hole fastener. However, those of us with a sense of humour had a chuckle. UNDERSCORE: this was an eBy listing, and not one by a forum member. Some here took offence, and thought that it was "our duty" to contact the eBay vendor to notify him/her that it is a proper military insignia. The eBay listing description has now been corrected with an appropriate description. A literary war ensued within this forum due to differences of opinion, all because someone has a sense of humour. There you have it. PLEASE, let's put this thread to rest.

Walt out.
