Default 12th Royal Lancers Badge question

Is this an ORs cap badge and what period does it date from please? Height of badge is 4.3cm from lance tip to base so I don't think it is a collar badge???

regards

Mark

Mark,
I'm away at the moment so cannot gauge the size, but with the pinning I would say it is an Offrs item!

Yes, a cap badge, rather too large for collar, it has considerable age, look at the way it has been made, a super Edwardian badge.

Mark,
Looking at the numerals on the obverse, is that the remains of gilt I can see, if so, as Andy points out, given the pins, I'd be thinking officer too, but, still an old badge.
